Sam Underwood

Parish Councillor and Chairman (joint) of Powick Action on Climate Change (PACE)

I am a musician and musical instrument designer living in Callow End; having moved to the village in 2009.

I have been self-employed since leaving university in 1999, working initially in web design and subsequently as a musical instrument designer and musician. I recently received funding from the Arts and Humanity Research Council to complete a PhD at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, from September 2021.

I am an active member of the community having been a Parish Councillor for nearly a decade and helping to form the Powick Action on Climate Emergency (PACE) sub-group in 2019. I am also a member of the Callow End Playing Field Association who work to raise funds to maintain and manage this community facility.

I am a keen cyclist and walker, and can often be found loudly championing the virtues of these modes of transport, whilst I continue pedalling, rambling and exploring the parish.
